Cuts and Creeds
Audiovisual installation in two parts
The installation Cuts and Creeds explores the phenomenon of the juvenile - mostly male - assassin who is treated as a martyr in the Islamic world and appears in the Western world as a person running amok. This raises the question of the fascination of this kind of ideology of violence and sacrifice: In which situation must I find myself, which thoughts, which feelings must dominate me in order to tear other people to their death for a certain goal and thereby kill or sacrifice myself.

The installation consists of a dual shop window projection in a vacant shop with visual contact to the street in a mixed, western Muslim environment. While from the outside only the videos can be seen, in the interior (with atmospheric room sound) on two seats all three media - video, audio, text - can be perceived in parallel, separately for the two sides A and M. The voices of the deceased assassins can be heard via headphones.
